Native Habitat Organization is a grassroots conservation group dedicated to protecting soil, water, native vegetation, and wildlife from abuse. We believe that by teaching the importance of maintaining healthy rangelands, we can help protect vital resources from harmful practices such as overstocking and overgrazing, soil and aquifer depletion, fire suppression, introduction of exotic plants and animals, and land fragmentation. Given the accelerating degradation of life-essential resources worldwide, we believe our calling is urgent.
NHO welcomes anyone who shares our concern for healthy food, clean water, clean air, and living according to sound environmental principles. Among our members are landowners, range and livestock managers, wildlife specialists, environmentalists, grazing land mediators, scientists, teachers, and students.
While we form a diverse organization, we share a common belief: that earth’s resources must be used in ways and amounts that can be sustained over time. We agree that how we use our natural resources today will determine what our grandchildren have left for tomorrow.
